Mental Health
What Levels of Mental Health are Appropriate?
As voters approach the ballot boxes in the upcoming 2024 elections, they will elect officials whose decisions could reshape the healthcare policy landscape within their counties. The Board of Supervisors wields considerable power over countywide healthcare, mental health treatment, and emergency services in California.
My guest, Dr. Peter Fung, explains how today’s stress levels threaten the mental health of all segments of our society. The first step in addressing mental health is raising the awareness level and removing the stigma of acknowledging it as a treatable disease.

Mental Health among the Homeless
Homeless encampments in commercial districts remain a visible and complex challenge. Government officials appear unable to formulate a plan to address what appears to be a broader health crisis that extends beyond the scope of traditional medical care. Voters have voiced their dissatisfaction with these encampments, which reflects both a deep-seated concern for the welfare of the homeless population, safety concerns, and the health of the community at large.
